Market Overview

  1. Regulator view on NPL market.
What will be the market trends in 2020-2022? How do the banks view the new lending procedures in corporate segment? How do they hedge against potential NPL risk in this new lending environment? Is the mortgage lending planned in the pipeline of major commercial banks?
  2. The market witnessed a sizeable decrease of the NPL levels. Remaining positions are limited to state-owned banks, residual DGF pools, and relatively small amounts of vintage credit in local and international banks. Corporate and retail (mortgage and auto) lending is expected to grow in a very slow pace.
What are the investor expectations as to the NPL sales in remaining segments?
How will the banks incorporate the crisis lessons in their new lending procedures? How will they cooperate with NPL servicers and investors in the post-crisis environment?
  3. What was the impact of the legislative changes on the market and how could it increase the efficiency and transparency of the NPL market: a) Introduction of the new Bankruptcy Code; b) Expected lifting of the moratorium in mortgage segment; c) Expected changes in the number and efficiency of institution of private bailiffs.

Corporate Segment

  1. The remaining NPLs are largely concentrated in the state-owned banks.
What is the estimated size and type of NPLs in each of the four state-owned institutions?
How and did the restructuring law implementation help to relief the situation?
  2. Changing legislation to help the state-owned banks to tackle NPLs.
Do we expect the change in legislation allowing state-owned banks to sell NPLs?
Asset Resolution Companies– is there a plan to introduce this concept to offload NPLs to professional servicers?
  3. The new Supervisory Boards are formed and operational.
What is their roles and impact on NPL resolution?

Retail Segment

Unsecured NPL service is a stable market with established players – what is their view on this market segment? What latest trends are in the segment?
  2. Mortgage lending may come to the market in a very slow pace
